The Byron Bay Brewery has released a PET beer bottle this week. The first shipments of the new PET bottle have been delivered this week to Jupiters Casino and Coogee Bay Hotel, to name a few. V-Australia airlines are also now taking on the new packaging. The development of the PET bottle is in response to the sharp rise in glassing incidents across Australia and introduction of new liquor licensing laws, banning the serving of glass after midnight at key venues. As a result, Byron Bay Beverages partnered with Visy to rethink its packaging plan and create the PET bottle. “With our Premium Ale now also produced in PET bottles, we can now run our business knowing that we’ve made a decision based 100% on the safety of our customers and also the sustainability of the environment we share with them,” said Glenn Cary, sales director of Byron Bay Brewery.
