Diedrich Coffee and Praise International say they have set June 12 as the closing date for the sale of Gloria Jean's Coffees franchise operations in North America.

The purchaser, Praise International, is an affiliate of Australian company Gloria Jean's Coffee International, which currently holds the rights to the Gloria Jean's brand outside of the US and Puerto Rico.

Gloria Jean's Coffee International operates more than 1000 coffee houses in 35 countries around the globe. It is one of the fastest growing franchise organisations in the world.

The sale of the Gloria Jean's Coffees US domestic franchise operations includes 102 franchise and company-operated locations across 24 states.

The purchase price is said to be approximately US$3.1 million and includes a five-year agreement for roasting services provided by Diedrich Coffee.
