New Zealand kiwifruit drinks maker Nekta Nutrition has opened a new beverage processing factory in Wiri, South Auckland. The company's principal, Adriana Tong, said the new factory would keep full control of quality and all facets of production in-house and use the flexibility this offers to support its own production development program. The other goal is to develop relationships with other companies who seek a modern, reliable production partner. Nekta sells its non-carbonated drinks in New Zealand, Australia, Asia and Europe. Nekta uses a patented process that preserves the fruit's active vitamin and mineral properties. The drink is blended with 'functional superfoods' such as Aloe Vera and Goji Berry.
