Aldi has confirmed its long standing partnerships with OzHarvest, FoodBank and SecondBite to ensure quality food not suitable for retail sale can be distributed to people at risk of going hungry.

Group MD Michael Kloeters said the partnerships provide Aldi with the opportunity to help a very worthy cause.

“Over two million Australians rely on food relief each year and Aldi is delighted to be able to assist by donating a range of quality foods,” he said.

“Aldi formed these partnerships out of a desire to help those in need and we look forward to working together now and in the future to tackle one of Australia’s most concerning social problems.”

Last week, Woolworths announced a year long campaign to donate food to the needy.
